Zoodles

I came upon this site searching for activities for my Kindergarten ELL students and have found it to be a fantastic site.  There are tons of pages that cover Language Arts, Reading, Math and some fun added in.  It is Smart Board friendly and very easy to use.  The pages are taken from various sites such as Disney, Nickelodeon and such, but you can not link to the sites from the pages.  You just get to use the pages that are chosen through Zoodle.  This site is appropriate for K, 1st and maybe 2nd.

Spanish Flashcards

Great vocabulary builder.  If you follow the VOCABULARY column, there are fabulous activities there to learn, introduce and review vocabulary.  The COLORES MEMORY game is a big hit with my students.

QUIA

I use QUIA to play games for review with my students in Spanish class.  Some favorites are Rags to Riches, which is like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", and Battleship.  The games are fantastic on the Smart Board and you can create your own if you sign up.  Like Quizlet, there are many topics available, not just Spanish.

Quizlet

QUIZLET is one of my favorites for teaching vocabulary in my Spanish classroom. I can create flashcards for any topic and the games that come with the site are very user friendly for Smart Boards. But, don't think it can only be used for vocabulary learning. The site is for creating flashcards which can pretty much cover any topic. Think multiplication facts, addition facts, social studies information/vocabulary, etc. The possibilities are endless. And best of all, the site if FREE!

After you create your cards your students have options on what to do with them. They can FAMILIARIZE themselves with the topic, they can LEARN the topic by viewing the terms and identifying them, they can take a TEST, play a SCATTER game or a SPACE RACE game. Any way you look at it, the students get involved, are engaged and love to do this with the Smart Board and some have reported to do it at home from the link on my Teacher Website.
